What is Anxiety?
Anxiety is a natural response to uncertainty, pressure or situations that feel threatening. It can involve worrying thoughts and a physical sense of being on alert, and your mind may race or keep returning to what could go wrong, while your body can feel tense or unable to properly settle.
Some anxiety is a normal part of life and can even be useful, but when it becomes persistent, difficult to manage, or starts taking up too much space, it can affect sleep, concentration, relationships, work or study, and make it harder to do things you would otherwise want to do.
Anxiety can look and feel different from one person to another. Understanding what is driving it, and what may be keeping it going, can be an important part of learning to manage it more effectively.
