Senior Clinical Psychologist
Head of Assessments
I know that coming for a psychological assessment can bring a mixture of feelings. For some people it is a long awaited opportunity to better understand themselves. For others, the process can feel unfamiliar or a little daunting. My aim is to make assessment feel warm, conversational and collaborative, while still being thorough and grounded in evidence. I take time to understand the person behind the referral question.
I am particularly interested in how each person’s experiences are shaped by the broader context of their life, including their relationships, development, culture, identity and environment. I bring curiosity, humour and a person-centred approach to the assessment process, and I want people to feel comfortable asking questions and being themselves. Ultimately, my hope is that assessment provides greater clarity and a more meaningful understanding of both strengths and difficulties, with findings and recommendations that genuinely make sense for the individual.
As a Senior Clinical Psychologist at Laburnum Psychology, I work with clients across a range of counselling and assessment needs.
My work is informed by feminist and multicultural psychology, which recognises that the way we think, feel and understand ourselves develops not only through our individual experiences, but also within our relationships, culture, identity and the wider social systems around us. I draw on person-centered and ecological perspectives to understand each person within this broader context, rather than viewing difficulties in isolation.
