Clinical Psychologist
I see therapy as an opportunity to pause, reflect and better understand yourself in the context of your own life and experiences. My role is to offer a supportive, respectful space where we can work together to explore what’s been happening, recognise the strengths you already possess, and gently work towards the changes that feel important to you.
I aim to create a warm, collaborative space where you feel comfortable exploring your experiences without feeling judged or rushed. I’m interested not only in the difficulties you may be experiencing now, but also in understanding how earlier experiences, relationships and patterns may have shaped the way you respond to yourself, other people and the world around you.
I value curiosity, compassion and authenticity in the therapeutic relationship, and I believe meaningful change often begins with feeling truly understood. Sessions tend to be conversational and reflective, with the pace and focus shaped around what feels most helpful for you. At times we may spend time making connections and developing a deeper understanding of longstanding patterns, while at other times we might focus more practically on strategies or skills that can help with what is happening now.
My hope is that you leave therapy with a stronger sense of self, greater confidence in your own abilities, and practical tools that continue to support you long after our sessions have finished.
As a Clinical Psychologist at Laburnum Psychology, I work with clients across a range of therapy and counselling needs.
My approach places a strong emphasis on developing insight and awareness, helping people recognise the patterns, experiences and relationships that may be influencing how they think, feel and respond in the present. I’m particularly interested in exploring what sits beneath the surface of difficulties, and in helping people develop a richer understanding of themselves and the meaning behind their experiences.
Compassion is an important part of this work. I aim to help people approach difficult thoughts, feelings and parts of themselves with greater understanding and kindness, while also introducing practical strategies where they are most useful.
Attachment and psychodynamic ideas often help inform this work, alongside trauma-informed practice and an appreciation of how our minds, bodies, relationships and broader life circumstances can interact.
From these foundations, I draw flexibly on evidence based approaches including CBT, ACT, DBT and Schema Therapy, alongside mindfulness and strengths-based approaches. I enjoy helping people bring together insight and practical change - developing greater self-understanding and self compassion, while also building skills and experimenting with new ways of responding that can support a more fulfilling life.
